Things to Do In Charlottesville

If you’re not planning to golf on Sunday or are coming into town early, Charlottesville is bursting with things to do and see in the Spring!

  • Boar’s Head Spa- The Boar’s Head has an on-site spa and offers a wide-range of services from massages to pedicures to facials.  You do not have to be a guest at the Boar’s Head to book a service but everyone is advised to book prior to arrival in order to guarantee an appointment.  Visit http://www.boarsheadinn.com/Spa/Spa.asp for more information or call 434-296-2181 to talk to someone directly.
  • Monticello- Thomas Jefferson built his estate home in Charlottesville in 1772.  The home reflects Jefferson's passion for architecture in the neoclassical design and distinctive dome.  Visitors to the estate will not be disappointed and it’s a must-see tourist destination.
  • Downtown Walking Mall- Located just about 1 mile from the University of Virginia campus, the Downtown Mall offers up a wide variety of restaurants, bars, antique shops, and other unique shopping opportunities.  Siips Wine Bar & South Street Brewery are great places to grab a cocktail and unwind and the Downtown Grille, Cassis, Mono Loco, Blue Light Grill, Bizou and Fleurie are just a few of the many locally owned and operated restaurants worth visiting.
  • University of Virginia- Visit Mr. Jefferson’s University and tour the ‘Academical Village’ which includes the Rotunda, pavilions and rooms on the lawn and range.  Jefferson envisioned an academic environment in which teachers and students would live and interact among each other to further and enhance the pursuit of learning.  Tour the gardens, check out the famous serpentine walls, walk around grounds and explore Alderman Library, Scott Stadium and much more.  End your tour at the Corner District, adjacent to the University, to shop or grab lunch.
  • Wineries- There is no shortage of great wineries in and around Albemarle County, VA.  Plan a winery tour while you’re here.  Visit www.virginiawine.org to find out more.  Jefferson Vineyards, Keswick Vineyard, First Colony, Kluge Estate, and King Family Vineyards are just a few of many located only a short distance from the Boar’s Head.

Propane-powered forklifts outperform electric forklifts in both indoor and outdoor applications. They have demonstrated the ability to lift, push and pull heavy loads at full capacity, up and down inclines, for longer periods and with improved ground speed when compared with electric forklifts.
